Scope of Work: Remedial Investigation
Brice performed remedial investigations at eight discrete sites suspected to have significant polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) soil contamination, as well as metals, fuels, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, dioxins and furans. Seven sites were associated with Ocean Cape Radio Relay Site operations and one site associated with former WWII operations.
Brice performed tree clearing/grubbing, geophysical surveys, direct-push drilling for the installation of groundwater monitoring wells and environmental sampling, analytical sampling including the collection of geotechnical samples, waste management, and surveying. Remedial investigation included drilling and environmental sampling of surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment.
We characterized the contamination of each area to determine alternative cleanup levels and remedial alternatives. We completed ADEC’s Human Health Conceptual Site Model, Ecological Conceptual Site Model, and Ecoscoping Forms for each site.
Performance Highlights
- Successfully managed community relations involving multiple stakeholders; incorporated local hires as part of our community relations plan to supplement Brice’s Anchorage-based field crew
- Completed the project 38 days ahead of schedule despite complex scheduling and logistics that were reliant on limited barge schedules for mobilizing and demobilizing from the site
- Completed fieldwork with zero safety incidents
- Received across the board “Very Good” CPAR for schedule, management, quality, and regulatory compliance
