Under contracts for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, Brice has been performing solid waste removal, construction/renovation of facilities, and construction/repair of a water distribution system on Wake Island. Its remote location in the Pacific Ocean makes the process of mobilization and demobilization more complex, but is a unique challenge that Brice is well suited for, given our 55-year history of performing work in complex, hard-to-reach environments. Specifically, Wake Island is adjacent to the international dateline, approximately 1,500 miles east of Guam, making it the first place where the sun rises on U.S. soil.
Recently, as part of an “island hopping” series, CBS news did a short piece about Wake Island. Brice staff are seen in the background performing work on the water distribution system, as well as enjoying some after-hours volleyball!
